Welcome to Emma’s Word.
I’m a writer, journalist and communications professional by trade, encompassing freelance work for newspapers and magazines, online SEO copy & blog posts, print marketing copy, corporate history books and everything in between. I have also created & managed several boutique events, including a rather interesting debut Australian tour for a well-known English psychic.
In a carbon-constrained world, my work has more recently focused on off-grid living, renewable energy and electric vehicles. I’m probably what you’d call a greenie (but without the dreadlocks), and am the proud owner of The Off Grid Solar House, and a Climate Leader with Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project.
Previously, I’ve managed a state-owned heritage asset, been a journalist and columnist with the Leader group and written one corporate and several personal history books.
The township of Little River is my home, where I’m getting to know the ‘locals’ (which is defined here – as in all small communities – as someone with three generations in the graveyard).
I work with anyone and everyone who has a story to tell, a product to promote or a history to capture. If I can help out with your project in any way, I welcome you to get in touch.
